INTRODUCTION
Elias Kupfermann started his historical research aged nine years when he visited his local town library to look at Victorian editions of the local newspaper. Since then he has not looked back and now has over 25 years of professional experience in archival research. With the advent of the microfilm reader and scanning equipment, the original Victorian papers have now become part of Elias's own extensive research library.

Elias gained a BA Joint Honours degree in Archaeology and History at the University of Wales and later completed a Master of Arts in Museum Studies at the University of Leicester. He is currently studying for his PhD in History at the Centre for English Local History at the University of Leicester. His research for his Doctoral thesis is the role of Windsor Castle and town during the English Civil Wars and Interregnum. He is also an affiliate member of the Royal Institution of British Architects and a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society.
He has developed research skills which he has utilised in his local history research, tracing family trees and discovering fascinating facts about historical buildings. He has also built up an impressive client base ranging from the BBC, government departments, town councils and museums in London and the Home Counties.
Elias was formerly curator of the Horlicks archive and also a number of private family archives where he has advised on cataloguing and conservation. He is also Curator of a museum in SW France and has contributed to television programmes such as Who do You Think You Are? and Michael Portillo's 'Great British Railway Journeys'.
Elias has published a book of photographic imagery of Windsor during the late nineteenth century and early twentieth century. The book is entitled Royal Windsor - Images of a Bygone Age and the book can be purchased on the Books page.
